Image Description: In a few images from here onwards I showed some retrofitted Stela's that have been fitted by replacing WRTL 2600's, and the goose neck brackets for the 2600's have also been removed. These are the night pics, to see how these High-power 52 LED lanterns fare at such low mounting heights

IMAGE 10

Image 1 is a bit bluured, but is looking down the street at night.
Image 3 is an attempt at an 'arty' picture. I have done nothing fancy with my camera to get the exposure just right to see the LED lenses - the lantern is mounted so low that the sheer amount of light is enough to force my camera's white balance down a lot.
Images 5 and 6 are a comparisons between my camera's 'normal' and 'extra dim' light sensitivity settings... Imagine this lantern as your porch light - you'd never be fumbling around not able to see the key you need, that's for sure!
Image 8 is the next column down the street... for the person who parks his car here, he must be very happy for the Stela's - but for everybody else, the light spread is not great because the lanterns are too low.
Image 9 is looking back down the street - believe it or not, there are houses on the left hand side of the road - and the front doors almost open up onto the street. You can see the two other lanterns in the street too... and if you follow down the pavement, you can see where the sudden light patch is where the other lantern shines down.
Image 10 shows the Stela mounted at the road junction - as the lantern is mounted low, you can see the spread of the luminous flux rather well replicated onto the road surface.
Image 11 shows off one of the more recently installed Stelas on the link street in the foreground, and one of the slightly older ones on Balmoral Terrace in the background. The one in the background is a 36 LED version and replaced a 90w SOX lantern, the one in the foreground replaced a 70w SON lantern and is a 52 LED version - mounted at half the height of the background lantern! (camera exposure is on 'extra dim' setting)
Image 12... there are no spies waiting by this lamp post to exchange secret documents - not just because they'd be found out very easily, but also because they'd be blinded! This is another 52 LED Stela, mounted at about 4m off ground level.
