Imagename: | Future replacements for Burton Stone Lane |
Image Description: | Previously shown in the 'White Cross of Death' pictures, Burton Stone Lane has been left with more columns that have failed structural testing than are OK. Now, new markings have gone down beside each column. these are a number going up consecutively with the columns, and with either a D, T, or N initial at the end of the code marking. I believe these will be the locations of the new columns - with D for 'direct replacement' (1 for 1), N for 'new location' perhaps, and T possibly meaning 'trees above' or something, I'm just guessing really! The last column at the Crichton Avenue end was fine and has passed testing... however it has since been the victim of a rather significant impact. It is a cast iron column, and has been shunted along a bit and has twisted... good thing the new column location has already been set beforehand! |
