Image Description: installation number 1 on Murton Lane has not seen any use for several years, possibly decades. It is my belief that lanterns 1 and 2 were installed to provide a bit of light on the approach to a level crossing for the Derwent Valley Light Railway... however the track was ripped up in the 1980's; whether the lights were left abandoned from then thereon, or had not been used before that time I do not know. The pole brackets for both lanterns contain Venner timeswitches, and lantern number 2 still has a tungsten bulb in place.

In this picture, my bike lights are illuminating the lanterns - and also on the wood pole can be seen what I believe to be supply fuses.
