Image Description: An installation, which I spotted with a keen aye from the opposite side of the carriageway on the way down to England. It stood out as a white contender in a sea of SON and bore the tell-tale "spoon" shape of the Alpha Three. The lantern is midway through the slip road, not far behind the "end of motorway regulations" sign and is in an absolute pig of a position for maintenance, I suspect the reason why it still remains. The lamp is fairly dull, with lumen levels also badly affected by  the shallow or flat optic of the lantern, which is tarnished with years of dirt. An "almost on the mainline" installation, I suspect this is one of very few if any remaining examples, and looks like an original Atlas Alpha Three likely from when this stretch of motorway - and services - was built.
