Image Description: | IMAGE 32 31 - A lot of the lighting in the main part of the town concists of heritage lanterns by DW Windsor on ornate columnns. Along Mostyn Street there are a few columns of the ornate design with no lanterns fitted. I am unsure as to whether these are reproduction columns or originals restored to their former glory... but look at the size of the base! 32 and 33 - This is the original. All the heritage style lanterns along the front and along Mostyn Street have been based on this lantern. I don't know what this is, but it is not a reproduction as there is rust in various places, wear on the enamel reflector plate, and the lamp is mounted vertical and not in a "dark sky friendly" cutoff reflector box. It has long lost it's bowl and a refractor (if one was ever fitted) and there are a couple of metal wires dangling lose from the enamel reflector plate. This runs a SON lamp. |
