Another GR200 on the A406. This will be replaced very soon as the lighting on the other side of the road has been removed and replacement columns (without lanterns) have been installed.

The A406/Harringay Green Lanes junction is home to this monster of a bracket with an Alpha 8 installed. Judging by the rusty condition of the column, I would say the Alpha 8 isn't the original lantern and probably replaced a GR200, as other columns like this around the junction have that lantern installed.

Harringay Green Lanes is seeing all its Alpha 8s by the shops replaced with post-top Arcs. A pretty unnecessary scheme in my view, as the Alpha 8s still look very new and there are some comparatively scruffy installations further down the road which could be replaced instead!

A lone MA50 stands amongst SGS203s (out of shot) on Tottenham High Road. This makes me think the SGS203s mass replaced MAs, but for some reason this one was missed.

Park Avenue near Alexandra Palace is now lit by Evolos on these rather unusual columns, replacing GR150s and MAs on unsleeved CU concrete columns (which can be seen on Streetview . A great shame to see the old installations go, but I do like the Evolo!

Around the Harringay Green Lanes junction, a few GR200s on these upangled brackets can be seen. However, their days are numbered as this stretch of the A406 is being widened, as mentioned by Alex - the lighting on the other side of the road has been removed and replacement columns have been installed, but with no brackets or lanterns yet.

After the GR200s, GEC Z9564s take over on octagonal steel columns. There are several MA casual replacements as well.

The next stretch of the A406 through Enfield beyond the A10 junction is lit by GR200s. A stretch before the A10, however, was replaced by Sapphires last year.

The A406 through Edmonton is lit by Urbis Sapphires on octagonal steel columns with Y brackets originally bearing MRL6s (or the Phosco equivalents), an original installation of which can be seen in the background. The Sapphires were installed last year in a relighting scheme along this stretch. However, as you can see, the scheme has been somewhat piecemeal.

Yes, a great shame indeed! I caught a glimpse of the stretch through J28 at Brook Street a couple of weeks ago as well - it is indeed Sapphires which are replacing the MAs! The MAs are still in place through the junction, however, so the Sapphires are probably not in nightly service yet.

The Evolos have also been used on new columns, this example replacing a couple of Iridiums. Nice to hear of Iridiums being replaced for a change! :D

Barking and Dagenham seem to be trialling MH now in the form of Urbis' new Evolo lantern, which I love as it looks great on anything, including these 1970s Fabrikat columns. These examples were installed in late 2009 to replace SGS203s and Iridiums, which in turn replaced GEC Z9554s in about 2001/2002 and were only about 7-8 years old at the time of replacement. I've also seen the Evolo begin to be used in post-top form in Redbridge - a few have been installed before a traffic light junction on New Wanstead in Snaresbrook, replacing various SOX lanterns, including a few Alpha 4s, an MA50 casual replacement and a single GR150.

I think the only way to find out is to get a heavy duty 6v torch and test it at dusk to see if the wall lights are affected and if they are then it'll be the wall if not then the question will continue to beg.

I do think that photocell column is used for the York Wall lanterns and this could have been the only way CoYC could operate them without damaging the historic Wall.

I have yet to see how bright these ones are, as they're not connected yet. They look quite odd though, being quite so wide!
There are 9 installed here, I wonder if a batch of 10 came across, so that one is spare?

I recall the ones in Lepton being the 52 version as they were quite bright when I went past last year.

Ah, well if you can find a better image of a stretlight (that we haven't seen recently) then I'd advise on putting that into the POTM in place of this one. The Phosco in the snow pic, however, is one that is quite worthy of a few votes.
