Hello all I have just joined Ukastle.
I am very interested in street lighting and have a collection of street lanterns so I thought it wasn't a bad idea to join this site :)

Welcome to Ukastle. If you have pictures of your collection, you can use the gallery to show them.  :)

Welcome to the forum! I've just been looking through the pics and your lanterns all seem to be in showroom condition!

Also, some photos seem familiar... I think Mike B may have included some in an email I got once.

Welcome to the forums! I've looked through your Flickr site and you have a very nice collection. Particularly jealous of your geared Alpha 3 lanterns!

Thanks for the warm welcome  :D
My gear in head alpha 3's have seized grub screws apart for one of them that has one grub that turns. I should be able to get hold of more of them when the get put in for new. Hopefuly some of them will have turning grub screws.

A belated warm welcome from me.

I like those Geared Alpha 3's. They're an iconic lantern often spotted disused in petrol stations or Car Dealers. If I had one, it'd get converted to run 250w or 400w MBF if they'll take 400w as i've two lots of gear and 4 lamps which i'm eager to house in something....

I hope you manage to unseize the grub screws on them too. What have you tried so far?
