Do you mean the situation regarding 'Alpha Eight' and 'Alpha 8'? The latter is set to redirect.

I love the lantern decoder. What do you think about linking factfiles off of that page? For instance, with the Alpha 8:

Which is what I meant, you've linked to the Alpha 8 page but I don't what description you linked to... :?  ;)

Ah I see now - yes I accidently copied and pasted the wrong piece of text (Gamma 8) for my example

Should read: 8 Mercury/SON lantern. No longer in production. Original Alpha 8 was a twin lamp design.

I have added a Factfile for the GEC Bricks to the Wiki.

Great! I thought the ref sec was a bit quiet of late. That article is very well put together.

Agreed - that is an excellent factfile. Thanks :)

Is there any room to mention the bricks on the A40 (Northolt, Middlesex), especially the section where they were at a very low mounting height on the A40, as shown on Google Streetview? The bricks on the central reservation have now sadly been replaced by Sapphire 1s, but pretty much every brick remains on the taller columns and are in very good condition. They are remote-gear versions and I reckon they were put up in the very late '80s if not the early '90s, judging by the condition of the columns and the lanterns themselves.

Calderdale has been added to the Wiki.

What is mainly mentioned is the type of lantern in use as well as the columns used.

I had forgotten about the Northolt ones - I have added that in. I'm trying to keep the lantern factfiles "lantern based" without turning them too much into a "here's where they still are" unless location details provide date evidence or illustrate something unsual about the lanterns. The Northolt GSV link from Alex falls into the latter category.

I have edited Calderdale for spelling and grammar. I removed one line as where possible a Wiki should be based on fact (or list any reasoning/assumptions) - it shouldn't contain hypothetical statements or try to predict the future.
