Hi. Just thought i'd report something annoying with the search function. I'm not sure if it's something deliberate or fault but when searching for keywords to find a specific post, it ignores the terms because they're too common. It kinda makes the search function useless for finding specific posts. |

I must admit I had this problem the other day when searching for 'Beta 99' and found it frustrating. I've just altered the 'Common Word Threshold' setting on the Administrative Control Panel from "15%" to "0" meaning it is now disabled. However, this hasn't had any effect as the phrase 'Beta 99' cannot be found nor can 'Beta' on its own. I shall have a look into it... I have had other forums that I've been on with less than helpful search functions too. A few weeks back on here I tried a search for Wheldrake and it didn't find anything - not even when I told it to search in the regional section! |

OK, since I've had an admin connection to the server open tonight, I have done the necessary tweaking to the php code for the search function and hopefully it'll work better now. |
