Voting has now ended. On behalf of mazeteam (POTM co-ordinator) I would like to congratulate David who has won with his image number 8 (Siemens Kuwait)

A very well done to all 12 photographs for making it to POTY and thank you to all who voted. I'm sure mazeteam (POTMCO) would like to say a few words to all contributors as well momentarily.

Finally, I wish all members a Happy New Year on behalf of the UKASTLE Management. :D

I would like to add my thanks to those who contributed their photos to this years competitions. The variation in the winners of each POTM this year has shown how much variation can be shown even in just one focused area; and by winning a POTM it shows that the people who have voted believe that the image in question has truly captured what streetlighting really is about.

There will not be as many chances to enter photos for POTM2011, but I'm sure that the entries we do receive will be of as high a standard as has been seen this year.

Hope I'm not missing something obvious and asking a silly question but why will there not be as many chances to enter POTM in 2011?

As there haven't been as many entries in recent months, the management have decided that a bit of a step-down was required. Originally it was only going to be one Photo Competition per season (photo of the season, POTS... so to speak)... but instead I have decided that a full POTM with people entering photos will be done every 2 months, with the 'gap' month being voting only on runners-up images from previous competitions. If photo nominations step up a bit then I may reinstate a monthly entry competition....

Ok, I understand. Now I have a new phone I will try and get some photos on here when I'm out and about so I can help to boost your numbers for the competition  :)

OK, well the first 3-6 months will be monitored to see how the entries go... and a review will determine whether the two-monthly full POTMs will remain or whether it'll be reinstated to monthly ones.
