Passing by the blind school in Bridgend earlier my attention was drawn to this little lantern lighting the roadway near the entrance.  I stopped at took a quick look, but I could not see the lamp within as the refractor is slightly cloudy. Im wondering if it contains an MB/U lamp, others nearby all seem to have MBF lamps burning happily away. The colour looks bang on for MB/U. Any other lamps that could give off a similar colour under fault conditions etc? Mike. |

it does look right on the money for MB/U. dead mbfu lamps glow green, but nowhere near as bright (unless the outer bulb has gone, in which case it is in effect an MB/U lamp anyway) |

I like that green glow from that MB/U lamp, its welcoming for some reason. |

I'd bet it's one of those clear 40w Mercury lamps similar to what Jonnyboi sells.... |
