The bowl of a Z9454 down my road blew open overnight, but is still attached.

So expect to see a Sapphire there then 'cos when the bowl gets lost, SEC will undoubtedly replace the bowl less lantern with a Sapphire.

Just wanna add that if you know anyone in the area shown on here: http://www.metoffice.gov.uk/corporate/p ... 91118.html that floods, i'd advise them to move important things upstairs as there's a severe risk of flooding overnight and into tomorrow morning.

Most rivers will have reached their peak by now. The Ouse (and also the Ure as it's the same river) was still rising this evening at about 6pm when I went past St Georges Field car park near York castle. One car was getting gradually more and more surrounded by ever-rising waters, and the back end of the carpark was filling up as water trickled in. The river foss has no current at the moment as the barrier is shut, and the river has to back up to a certain level before the pumps kick in. Along Skeldergate, the modern developments there had flooded basement carparks (and where the GEC Oxford is by the river, it was out of action and the river level was lapping close to Skeldergate itself), and one carpark despite being specially designed with the entrance the other side of a concrete bulkhead was getting a notably damp floor where water was penetrating through the concrete from the other side.

The Calder was quite high, you couldn't even see the arches underneath. The crap weather also nearly ruined Brighouse's new festive lights as one was circuiting off water that had collected in the control box.

The bowl is still attached to the Z9454, and the winds have been high again, so it might survive... until the PFI.

That's an ally topped one too... I think it's Andrew Pate who lives up in cumbria. May be an idea to put a heads-up about this on the yahoo board, as it'd be worth saving.
