I saw the channel 4 news item they were doing about the shootings of Bloody Sunday - showed some old footage of the civil march through some streets, and there were some 5ft fluorescents there.

Just been watching an old repeat of a programme made originally for Discovery about the project to put the I90 and I93 under tunnels in Boston, anyway some of the tunnel lighting is definitely SOX  :?

I knew certain areas of California still use SOX lighting in fact I have seen it in real life, but I wasn't aware that it was also used on the East Coast.

The Mass Turnpike (I90) was lit by SOX when I lived in Boston (1995-1996). This was the only road I was aware of which used low pressure sodium - the rest was high pressure sodium, high pressure mercury or (in the very rural neighbourhoods) tungsten.

All the best,
Simon

Watching "The Damned United" on BBC2 about Brian Clough. 1968, terraced houses allegedly  in Derby, and what is that I see in shot - hmm an Iridium! I don't believe the shot was even in Derby as the column was galvanised - Derby use dark blue painted ones...

I was going to say, it looks too flat to be an Iridium.

Well it was only on screen for literally a second! Also featured were the big curved bracket concrete columns outside the original Wembley Stadium.
