Now that is spectacular! Look at the size of those things - they must have been so prominent.

How about this rare fluorescent that was still in use at Broad Street station during the 1980s?

Dawlish has been much in the news of late which has also meant that a lot of old photographs have been published on line.

This image from the Dartmoor Trust and Archive and shown on the BBC news website earlier in the week is of interest.

To the left of the locomotive is a concrete swan necked column with what looks to be a 2ft fluorescent lantern.

Very interesting and topical there, Phosco152. And well spotted - I couldn't discern any street lighting at an initial glance!

An impressive picture of Northway in Scarborough. Not only is the Obelisk in the middle as it was originally, but there is a long line of unspoilt Three Eightys.

Great picture of Scarborough. I wonder how long after the newer columns with MA30s and turtles were installed.

Possibly a few years. I'd say that was taken in 1981, the MA30s and Turtles installed 3-4 years later.

Finally!!

Roundhay Park Bus Terminus, now a carpark. Seen here in the early 1960's.
