Found this a while ago and possibly mentioned on the NE thread this GEC fluorescent lantern with broken bowl. It no longer works and is situated on a private industrial estate. Surprisingly the chunky concrete column is still in good condition given the last few winters.

Also note a good few shovel floods, none are used to my knowledge.

This street had most of it's MI26s replaced by iridiums except one. I'm not sure what's going on. Maybe some guy in the council thought it would be funny to boggle drivers eyes by going from LED to SOX to SON!

Interesting pictures and information.

Just when you thought only part of Britain is victim to these unfinished schemes, but no!

On the Ebberston Main Street, you can find evidence of the NYCC fatcats spinning around in their swivel chairs cackling.

For there have been 5 'r' type metal poles with Urbis Opalos as the lanterns. But as you head out of the village toward Ayton and Scarborough, you will find One R Metal pole with Urbis Opalo stood next to a telegraph pole with another Opalo attached to it. And on the opposite side moving to the edge of the village before heading to Scarborough, you will find they have just left the other telegraph pole beside a bus shelter and stop. This lantern has a long wire reaching out, with a lantern that I am familiar with, but cannot recall it.

This one has been like this for years, and as far back as I can remember https://maps.google.co.uk/maps?q=Scarbo ... 90.34,,1,0 I wonder if it was vandalised and just left or was going to be constructed but never finished? Or just going to put a sleeve on it but left it? Who knows.

It certainly seems odd right next to a full height Highway Hockeystick.

This is more of a forgotten scheme. BANES has (or did have) an LED plan for lighting, that uses Iridium2s and mini Iridiums. Recently, it has forgotten its idea, and been plonking down SON Iridiums here and there. This has been replaced and so has this. I have a picture of the butchered column ( looking similar to JTs post) lying at an angle next to a new metal column. There might even be more that I haven't seen! :o

I think that the column on the A4 junction slip road is owned by the Highways Agency. It appears to have a HA asset tag on it. They use SON in this particular area.

Another one for you chaps (or chapettes), QSSs replaced Z9454s around 2007/08 (I was there) all along this road except one they missed out!

That's happened here as well, this road was mainly lit with 90w SOX (GR100s, Z9454s) with SGS203 casual replacements, and Urbis Sapphires came to replace the remaining SOX to upgrade the lighting to SON, but for some reason, the scheme left the Z9454 pictured, as well as a GR100 behind the camera hidden in the trees. As of this week all lanterns along this road have now been fitted with NEMA nodes!!

This telegraph pole in Bradford-on-Avon was fitted with an iridium a few months ago. I've never seen it used once. :?
