Is it just me or is this column on the wonk? also, the Oracle doesn't seem best suited post-top on concrete columns. The column is definetly on the wonk, it has been for aslong as I can remember.

One to fool the untrained eye methinks! S&L bracket on a newer CU column... it's a bit like how a few years ago York would refit their Revo Monarch brackets onto S&L's or BS columns. This is the only example I know of this happening in this area.

Wonky Pole! This road is situated in one of the windiest locations around, most of the wood poles on it lead in the directions of the wind as most of the trees do too. If you go further up the road the overhead lines change to the opposite side and lean the same way buy give the bracktes and up cranked effect rather than tilting downwards.

There used to be two or three post top Alpha 8's like this in Leeds just off Kirkstall Road, but I think they've gone now. There is an adaptor plate that bolts into the aluminium geartray/door underside.Yes I remeber whatching it get removed, it puzzeld the council guys for a moment then they worked it out. I would have tried to save it now as I have the storage space but back then I didnt have the room.

How on earth did the lamp survive that? hopefully you have the lamp as a momento...Thats what I would like to know, but sadly the lamps on these lanterns had been left to burn out as they were left to run after the Hospital closed. They were only disconnected upon demolition where only two SON Alpha8s remained lit - presumably they were fitted with SON plus bulbs as they lasted ages.
