Yes, DW Windsor DW400s I believe. There are some green-painted examples lighting a footpath between the Bombardier Ilford Train Maintenance Depot and the Griggs Approach flyover in Ilford, lit entirely with Philips MA30s which are still surviving in 2013!

I like the Grimsby example... probably because they're painted different to the column and so are meant to stand out. As their predecessors would have been put in when the whole area was 'Humberside', the old lanterns would have all been SOX.

Recently I've noticed that the council have been installing LED Fixtures that look like Iridiums but with flashier contours here. You can see them awaiting nightly service and the disconnection of the elderly SGS203s.

Those are Iridium 2s - the new version of the Iridium released by Philips in 2011.

Here are some other examples on Blackfriars Road in Southwark, London. These are retrofits for black flat-glass ZX3s and were installed in early 2012.

Yes, but with LED instead of SON.
Speaking of which, I saw some iridium 2s on a rather peculiar bracket here

There are a  few examples of coulmn mounted commercial floodlights being used to light public roads in Spixworth. The examples here are being used to illuminate speed humps.

Not a fan of this approach I must say but there must be a reason for it.

Nowhere else I know of specially lights up speed bumps. Seems ugly and a bit of a resources waste to me.

Aberystwyth lights speed bumps too - Unfortunately google streetview hasn't updated in that area though but they have been installed for longer than three years. I do have a photo somewhere but it'd take some finding! The lighting setup is the usual lighting made of Arcs and MI26s but in addition, an Arc standing either side of the speed bump. As you can imagine... Excessive, particularly for a road that sees light use in the evenings.

Top entry SOX on what look like reasonably modern columns. Can anyone estimate an age on this installations? When did top entry begin to die out?

https://maps.google.co.uk/?ll=52.67372, ... 72,,1,0.69

After further searching of the area Ive found these
https://maps.google.co.uk/?ll=52.658769 ... 72,,1,-3.9

Maybe the local authority had a whole stash of top entry SOX from this period and that explains the more modern ones?
