I've just noticed the McDonalds at the Metro retail park has had it's drive through refitted, and the new lanterns at the front on mock wooden posts run LED lamps as oppose to others which use MBF. No other lighting is provided as right next to the McDonalds building is a 5x 4000W SON GEC high mast installation which renders any other lighting useless.

Noticed today this Sainsbury's in South Woodford has had all of its ZX3s retrofitted with shallow-bowled Arcs. This is the first time I've ever seen Arcs used in a Sainsbury's car park - Sainsbury's has always been fans of the SGS203 and ZX3.

The Sainsbury's in Penzance (which opened last year) use black LED lamps of some sort in the car park.

During September, Morrisons in York (Foss Islands) had an access vehicle on the car park doing work, as the SON/CDO buring Abacus Orion giant post tops were being converted to running Induction lamps... now they've got rectangular lamps in them, some are not centered within the reflector.

Sainsbury's are carrying out a massive roll out of LED lighting to all of their estate - stores, warehouse and offices. This video shows what has been achieved and the wide range of suppliers and types of LED fitting that have been used. Fascinating stuff.

Interesting that it's produced by REVO Media!

With regards the McDonalds mercury post-tops that sprung up at restaurants across the country, these are now in the process of being converted to LED. Phosco152 and I saw some at an outlet in Northamptonshire. The lamps and louvres had been removed, and there was a new LED module with cylindrical perspex-like optic fitted up in the canopy of the lantern. They weren't powered up, as the lighting upgrade was in progress, including the installation of Stelas in the car park.

Noticed today that the Thorn Precincts which light my local Aldi store have been replaced with LED lanterns on new white columns.

Speaking of Aldi, there's a new one in Hemel that has had LEDs from opening, except that the staff don't seem to be pro-active in bringing them on at the right times. They are either on throughout the day and night, or not at all.
