I hadn't seen your photograph before - how 'modern' would you say they are?

Bit difficult to say but I would expect 1980s/90s and contemporary to elevation of the building rather than 1960s.

The Wallops, are  a series of small hamlets south of Andover with mercury lighting. Being in Hampshire, technically they come under the south coast PFI, but the lighting is parish owned and wasn't touched by the PFI.

Even better news and despite MBF lamps being "obsolete", when I went past early this morning, there appears to have been a re-lamping exercise. Excellent! :)

Oooh excellent, I'm working in Andover and Stockbridge at the moment for the next few weeks, so I'll have to visit the Wallops during the day and in the evening to see the installation.

Spotted this lovely survivor in Nottinghamshire yesterday - looks as if it has had a bit of TLC in recent years so not sure how much longer it'll be around, but was still working in April 2014.

UPDATE: This is now very much a survivor as it is still in nightly service in March 2016 despite there having been a mass conversion to LED in the area. I suspect this is because it is a top-entry lantern, necessitating a sleeve or more likely new column to accommodate the side-entry LED lanterns now being used.

Sorry for coming back to you late on this. What age would you say the building is? That might give an indication as to how old the ESLA is.
