Like you say, a rare survivor these days. The fact that Ackersley Court is a private block, there is a chance that this light should linger on far longer than the SOX lanterns of Stockport MBC. Their long lasting Beta Fives are certainly on the endangered list (along with the relatively recently installed 10m 'Cosmops'). I think the new lanterns are the 'S-Line' by Holophane. Although I'm not a huge fan of LEDs, these lanterns do look pretty good both day and night. |

A survivor from the past in a sense, but a new private installation at the same time: GEC Z5590 on cast iron column, Southampton It's like following the PFI, the past is fighting back! |

There are more survivors in the car park of the leisure centre opposite - a couple of Phosco P178s (there is another one over to the right), what I think is some kind of Philips lantern just behind the P178, and, right at the back, an Eleco PT1178 (once ubiquitous on Redbridge's side streets): https://www.google.co.uk/maps/@51.575625,0.037646,3a,18.6y,224.64h,95.81t/data=!3m7!1e1!3m5!1sSapudkWhfgqipgPOip0Jfg!2e0!6shttps:%2F%2Fstreetviewpixels-pa.googleapis.com%2Fv1%2Fthumbnail%3Fpanoid%3DSapudkWhfgqipgPOip0Jfg%26cb_client%3Dmaps_sv.tactile.gps%26w%3D203%26h%3D100%26yaw%3D343.00433%26pitch%3D0%26thumbfov%3D100!7i16384!8i8192 |

Driving home from a camping holiday today, I found a Phosco P157, on the A35 in Chideock, Dorset. The rest of the main street is lit with Arcs and MRL6s. |

The P157 in Chideock hasn't lit up for I think several years now. I think the lamp just burnt to extinction and they ignored it. |

Stanton 10 concrete columns still with original cranked brackets and Revo Prefects/Thorn Beta 4s probably still running MBF in Lynton Devon, and some how missed by the LED conversion. (More behind camera). |

A trip up to Farnborough today revealed some survivors. Lynchford Road, where the road was realigned it resulted in a short length of the old road being left as a stub and made private. However, there remains an Eleco GR150 on a 1970s column. Alison's Road is owned and maintained by the MOD, and still retains some amazing curvy double bracket 1970s columns. A small number still retain GEC Z9554s. |
