Shrewsbury has a large number of disused fluorescent lanterns mounted to the wall of an unused platform. I'm not sure what they are but they have very deep cloudy (almost opaque) bowls which are rectangular. I did take a photo but I can't find it on my computer at the moment but I will continue searching for it. There are also several examples of a different type of fluorescent lantern (GEC Z8260s)

Whether or not these are still there, but Cleethorpes railway station retains a couple of GEC "railway" post tops (I can't remember the code used), sadly it appears that one is missing and a few others have been sleeved.

Likewise for Grimsby which I think retains its sole GEC lantern outside of the station entrance, whether or not its still there I don't know as I haven't been to both Cleethorpes and Grimsby since '07.

The Square column examples are particularly rare. I might end up that way one day soon, as I have been trying a cycle route that way... my last attempt had to be aborted at Barton-on-Humber as I knew I'd miss the last train so I doubled back to Scunny instead.

Not specifically railway station lighting, but nontheless something I've been wanting to get a photo of for a while - and today I was on a HST so was able to open the window and get some half decent shots of it... this is the traincare depot at Derby.....

Ah yes, I've always wanted to photograph these when I've been to Derby (albeit usually on a Meridian) as the installations are elegant and look good all lined up. Maybe a little excessive though?

Even those these lanterns will be ZX3s, they look like a swarm of migrating birds.

Quick gander on GSV and I have found this in Grimsby, there is another one to the left of the footbridge. I can't tell what lantern they are but they almost certainly unusual.

I'm finding those ZX3s on the swan-necks quite hilarious to look at - they look like a great bit flock of swans!

Excuse me for being pedantic, but do I also see an SGS203 on one of the swan-necks in the centre-left (above the second yellow door of the train) of the first pic? You can also just about see it on the right-hand side in the third pic. Obviously a casual replacement for a failed ZX3 at some point!

Good grief, you've got a keen eye! Or did this just appear to you like one of those 'magic eye' puzzles where you stare at a pattern long enough and something odd pops out...!

I find this installation elegant and yet hilarious at the same time... they didn't need swan necks but went for them anyway - on every single column!

Most stations I've seen contain the Urbis ZXU1. Why this is a repeated choice of train station lantern, I have no idea.
