I have now identified these lanterns as DW Windsor Kirium LED lanterns.

They are also in use on many stations on the ECML, including Potters Bar, Peterborough and Doncaster.

This double bracket is at Peterborough.

Close up, the bright section between the LED panels and the column side of the lantern is actually sunlight illuminating a ventilation slot in the top of the canopy with the light visible on the underside.

None of the installations spotted on the ECML used the integral PIR sensors as seen at Trowbridge.

There are a couple of these installed on a single column at Sheffield station too - I think they may be trialing them as a replacement for the ZX3s.

Ryde Esplanade station on the Isle of Wight still has (just) a solitary Eleco railway lantern on matching Eleco aluminium column - which still shows signs of red Network South East branding - applied almost 30 years ago.

Phosco152 those  DW Windsor Kirium lanterns are the same ones that Enfield are using now. I think they look rather stylish.

With the re-openings of Apperley Bridge and Kirkstall Forge railway stations both use DW Windsor Kiriums on the platforms. However in Kirkstall Forge's case, the car park is illuminated with Arcs and the roadway up to the station is illuminated with unknown post top lanterns.

When Low Moor opens I do believe that it will too gain Kiriums.

South West Trains have upgraded all of the platform lighting at Southampton Airport Parkway to Urbis Axias with PIR dimming. Previously there were ZX1s running quartz metal halide. At Bitterne Station in the city, the Cosmo ZXU1s have all been replaced with Axias too. So, is South West Trains rolling out LED? The ZXU1s at Bitterne weren't all that old.

The north end of Chester railway station still has several vintage 1960s GEC fluorescent lanterns under the canopy. Web image below, one of the lanterns to the left of the front of the train.

Meanwhile at Shrewsbury, there appears to be what looks like a Wardle Atholl lantern on a steel bracket, alongside another lantern that looks similar to a GEC fluorescent possibly a Z8254.

No GSV for railways, so another web image here, showing the lanterns in the background RHS by the wall.

Has anyone seen the top-entry mounted P567s hanging from gantry-style brackets in Gillingham, Kent? I assume they had to drill a hole in the top, presumably as a retrofit for top-entry lanterns installed previously?

It is very difficult to find on GSV and, of course, was very difficult to photograph at the time.

First/MTR took over yesterday from Stagecoach as the operator of train services from London Waterloo. Their new brand of South Western Railway replaces SouthWest Trains.

SWR's franchise delivery plan mentions in its People and Sustainability section that it will reduce emissions by "a commitment to roll-out LED lighting to significantly reduce energy consumption across our station estate."

While SWT had installed/retrofitted some LED lighting on platform columns, under canopy areas on the whole, were lit by fluorescent tubes. Will we now see LED lighting under the canopies as well?
