Do you have an outlet of Newey and Eyre nearby in Bolton? As they sell the 2 pin 10w lamps... about £2.70 I think, but they're cheaper than the 4 pin versions sold at B&Q and Homebase. If not, try Bonus Electrical. You don't have to be in the trade there, they just ask you for your name and address so they can put it on the receipt... Just be aware that sometimes they state the unit price first off without the VAT added.

Just a warning about anyone going lamp shopping (well, anything in general),

VAT is going back to 17.5% in the new year. it'll be a shock as we've got used to 15% VAT.

Hmmm... Well that isn't a wise move is it. We're still in recession and the taxes are going back up.

Labour - vote red -> go red.

Well I've started to save up because of the 17.5% on the tax rather than the current 15%. Well the reds wont be voted at the GE. Back on topic i should have before next year a tray for all spares in me cellar.

It appears that Lampco - that used to stock SLI tubes, have now discontinued the sale of all discharge lamps.

It certainly looks that way, Phosco152 with very few of the 'tabs' actually doing anything useful, apart from those for LED, fluorescent and halogens.

Interestingly, if you type in 'discharge' on their shop search, the full range still seems to be there, including 200W SLI lamps at £63.77 each  (I think they are still cheaper on eBay though). Nb. I have not tried to add anything into my basket, so couldn't vouch if this 'search' is still operational.

That said, they do seem to have a separate website 'easy-lightbulbs.com' which seems to stock the majority of lamps including SOX. Perhaps this is replacing the  Lampco pages.

I was intrigued to read that they were encouraging people to contact them, if they had any old /surplus bulbs that they wanted rid of.

They offer to collect them and will even pay you, should Lampco manage to sell these lamps on. it makes you wonder what they class as 'old light bulbs'?
