I'd imagine the local council opting for WRTL Stelas since they are becoming popular. Not sure if I have mentioned this in the past but Rivington Services also use them in place of the dire Bolton West days of those life expired hightmasts.

Wow, WRTL kept quiet about that! It is clearly competing with the Iridium LED - perhaps there will be an LED Sapphire on the way too?!  ;)

Could there be an LED Opalo on the way too? LED techonology is really picking up now.

Philips has released a new LED lamp, with a £37 price tag.... and it looks like a captured sneeze!

The A48 between Pont Abraham (end of M4) and Cross hands in Carmarthenshire has had a lot of work going on the past few months, with the junction to Cwmgwili being improved with lengthened slip roads etc. I noticed last week that the present SOX lanterns now have new columns with LED lanterns on them standing by ready to be changed over. Not sure what make they are, but ill try and get some photos for you soon!

Good to see group A LED lanterns spreading, hope it continues to the destruction of SON

Mike.

They sound like these new LED lanterns are WRTL Stelas, as they are popular at the moment but they could be the Phillips SpeedStar as the HA are currently trialing them somewhere on the motorway network.

Comes at no surprise then! Do you have any photographs? It seems to me rather pointless releasing LED Sapphires when Urbis already have the Senso lantern among others.
