Dear All, I have a Royce Thompson P42E photocell and base which needs wiring up to a philips BSX 355L 16 and SX72 ignotor and cap. I have not go a clue how to do it. Can someone come to my aid?

See the diagram/photo and discussion in this thread a few posts back.

Other detector/cell wire goes to neutral and is combined with the load neutral.


For the P42E, centre pin is connected to neutral and the detector is connected to the 2 small sockets on the underside of the relay.

The ballast should be wired one terminal to supply and the other to the lamp. 2nd terminal of lamp goes to neutral. Ignitor is connected across the lamp - in other words, one terminal to neutral, other to "lamp live".

If you search the lamp and gear section of the forum you will find loads of posts and topics on how to wire up control gear.
