Looks like it could be an old Alpha 9.

I'm thinking it looks like an Eleco GR150 with an Alpha 9 bowl attached. Well I'm going that way today so see what lantern it is. Does Doncaster have a PFI of some sort as each time I went monthly in 2007 have of the lamp columns and lanterns were changed?

Barnsley MBC have a severe problem over Harden (between Dunford Bridge and Snittlegate / Hade Edge), the lanterns there were 2 Residiums then after a year became 2 Phosco's and now one of them is an Industria 2600. Also the bracket which holds the Phosco is bent, so rather illuminating the road fully, it now illuminates a wall and part of someones garden. (Imagine that in a Clarkson voice and you get what I mean)

I would have thought that is unlikely as the Alpha 9 bowl is much wider than the canopy of a GR150 (and the GR150 canopy is a different shape at its ends).

I thought it was a GR100.

I'm beginning to think that the lantern is a deep bowled GR150 after I went there on Saturday but I could be wrong.

Originally I thought it was a GR150 with an Alpha 9 bowl stuck to it. Indust thinks its an old Alpha 9 and Stelmer thinks its a GR100. So what lantern could it be?

- Possibly an Alpha 9,
- A GR100 or
- A GR150.

It's baffling my brain now thinking of it.

Too short and wide to be a GR150 and bowl looks the wrong shape to be a GR100. My bet - Alpha 9.

I might do this as a poll as the lanterns name is doing my head in.

I reckon it's an Alpha 9. No lantern sits on a bracket quite like that.

It's not a brilliant picture to work from is it, but I'd guess at a Alpha-9 with the front section of the bowl missing. The only other lantern with a canopy front over-hang that springs to mind is the Phosco p127, but I doubt very much it's one of those.

Mind you on saying that, I came by two immacualte P127s on private land in Stoke-on-Trent in recent months! Here's a photo:

Agreed - Alpha 9, I reckon the sleeve has a uplift perhaps slightly more than usual. The GRXXX have fairly narrow bowls with distinctly shaped ends which don't match the picture. The length of the bowl matches a 90w lantern so that rules out a GR150.
