It has been curing for a few days and is now ready to be glued back into the bowl.

It looks spot on, excellent.

What glue will you be using to fix into the bowl?

A popular brand of epoxy resin which has a name beginning with A...

The bowl is very cloudy and the glue sets practically clear anyway. The new refractor is a bit lighter than the old one but it needs a strong glue to take the weight. I prefer epoxy glues as the setting process is non reversible (unlike solvent glues) and they are more heat stable (than solvent glues). Also no risk of dissolving plastics.

Ah, a Pirate's favourite glue... (the sort with a wooden leg and a parrot, not the sort who makes dodgy DVD's and sells them!)

The Epoxy glues are more stable than other types and there's no real risk of it reacting with the bowl plastic in any way.

After waiting almost a year since I found out that new bowls for the Revo Lucidor B are available, the bowls have been made and my order has been completed.

They are slightly different to the earlier replacement bowl I had obtained which was in 2 halves pop riveted together - although I changed these to stainless steel screws.

It finally means that I can begin the restoration of my remote geared version.

That looks like you've just bought the lantern direct from Revo, that's how good the restoration is.

I'm sure your remote geared version is going to look just as good as the pictured one! That Lucidor is very well restored. The icing on the cake/canopy.

Totally agree with that, that looks stunning! Now we know what Lucidors looked like on the streets in the 1960s!  :D
