Very good that Phosco. You could have yourself a cottage industry there if you keep it up  ;)

As the P107 is currently still being made, I am wondering if the bowl dimensions are the same. My idea is to order a dozen replacement bowls for some P111s and P106s which should share the same size bowl. (Mazeteam, can you check yours?)

I'm also interested to see if Phosco still manufacture the Prismatic Refractor Ring.

Yes the bowls are the same dimensions for the P106, P107, and P111 (new and old types). Depending on price per unit, I might chip in for two or three spare bowls (maybe more if the price is right, as I wouldn't mind having the choice between clear and opal bowls for my lanterns - plus it also gives me a contingency if any of my bowls break)

If Phosco are still making the refractor, it is likely they'll only be making the plastic version. If you're round mine anytime soon I'll fish out the newer P111 I have and you'll see what the plastic refractor looks like. If they are still making glass rings then I'll be nicely suprised (especially if it's the same design as the ones we know of, as they'll fit Eleco lanterns too)

My latest attempt at bowl repair - the mould to make a new refractor panel for an Eleco HW509 to replace a missing original. Mould needs a few days to cure before I can cast the panel.

Excellent. May I ask what kind of resin material you have used to cast the mould from? Thanks.

Its silicone rubber off Ebay. It is a 2 part mix, the uncured stuff is white then you add the blood red activator to make it set. You know when it is mixed properly as it turns pink!

Silicone is more dimensionally stable than latex and it cures more quickly. It also produces a more accurate mould.

Thank you for the information. I will be interested in seeing the end result.

Yes I too would be interested to see the result and if it works... seeing as there's a few HW509's up this way.

The cast refractor from the mould:

It has been curing for a few days and is now ready to be glued back into the bowl.
