The Topaz Nano is an absolutely tiny lantern. A new one has appeared in my relatives' street in Brighton, and it looks small compared with a bulbous Opalo. Well, the Opalo 1 is 400x255x210mm (LxWxH) and the Nano 1 is 382x190x139mm. In comparison, a MiniIridium is 524x262x154mm. MiniIridium? What does that make the Nano? Well, the Nano certainly is Nano in comparison! And the thing is, the Nano 1 will take 50/70w SON and 42w PL-T. If a SON/PL-T lantern can be made so small then why are the majority of lanterns so huge? Fair enough, they cannot be mounted post-top, but even so, it just goes to show how unnecessarily bulbous many lanterns are.

As I said, the Urbis Nano 1 is a tiny lantern because here is its bigger brother, the Nano 2 LED, fitted to 5m hockeystick columns as a replacement for Philips MI26 lanterns:

That's a reduction in wattage from about 63w circuit power to 22w circuit power, or put another way, energy bills reduced by about 65% without sacrificing on levels of illumination and going from monochromatic yellow light to cool white light. The Nano 2 is still a small lantern, so you can imagine what a Nano 1 is like.

You probably need a magnifying glass to see the Nano 1! I do like this trend towards smaller lanterns... especially because the smallest of these lanterns will likely not be able to hold a SON lamp! I know the WRTL 2Tone is only for capsule sized lamps, and I'm sure the Nano 1 is smaller than the 2Tone

There isn't much of a diffrence between the Nano 1 and Nano 2. Apart from onw has 12 LED's t'other has 16.

I've seen the Nano 1 used in Brighton, and it's tiny, but they can still take 50w and 70w SON lamps. The Nano 2 visually appears to be the size of an Opalo 1, and the Nano 2 and Opalo 1 can take larger 100w SON lamps.

Well that's a shame!

From those pictures, I did wonder if the Nano 2 and the Opalo were roundabouts the same size - and then they can probably too share the same optic to cut costs. The Nano 1 may be similar to the Thylia in terms of optic size (if anything, the Nano 1 is slightly larger than the Thylia, but the Thylia is gearless)

We saw more and more SCHREDER Furyo to appear for 5 years.
Do they exist in UK ? I have seen Furyo 3 in Ireland (Cork) but never in UK.

Wow, that looks sleek! I wonder what the purpose of making a quick successor to the Furyo is though? How does this lantern differ to the already successful Furyo?

The Furyo's do exist in one or two places... Blackpool is one that immediately springs to my mind. I also think there's some around Alex's neck of the woods.

I think that it is just a question of design.
Falco 1 and 2 are equiped by same reflectors of Furyo 1 and 2. Falco also may be a little cheaper than Furyo.

I like all these SCHREDER new designs !!!
