So as expected, Stela technology progresses to main road lighting....

I wonder if it's Indal or new owners Philips that have pushed this forward?
I also wonder how long it'll be before we see some in use...

I'd love to see them in use. They'd be excellent for lighting remote routes where lighting is necessary or busy roads where traffic is an issue. I bet they'd pay for themselves in a few saved lamp renewals.

Judging by the speedy take-up of the Stela across the UK I reckon it won't be long. I reckon the Luma will be a firm favourite with Lancashire County Council, which could be bad news for the Vectra!

I like the Fit and Forget option with the Luma. (Six weeks later and some plonker ploughs their motor into it its 'temporary' replacement becomes a ZX3 running 400W SON     ).

WTRL also has the i-TunneL, http://www.wrtl.co.uk/about/i-tunnel hopefully this should be a rival to Urbis's RT3 (or similar manufacturers product) So longs SON is getting oblitterated then jobs a good 'un.

I just want to see more LED lanterns round this way... especially on main roads replacing glarry SON.
Now would seem a pretty good time to get some proper light being shed on the roads too. The Stela has seen use elsewhere, so I would really like to see its big brother get used too.

The Philips Speedstar has seen some use on busy roads around the UK (notably the A5 near Tamworth) so I see no reason why the Luma shouldn't be as, or even more popular. Councils already know that WRTL can deliver when it comes to LED lighting. However, personally speaking, I think the Speedstar looks more modern and seems to give a really impressive performance, judging by David's pictures.

I think it's brilliant, like a modern day Eleco Way
