Can anyone confirm the MRL6 and SRL8 are now defunct? It will be interesting to see what my local council start using as casual replacements now!

Best thing to do is contact the manufacturer. I can remember when the Sintra was taken off the Urbis website, I e-mailed them to clarify that it had been discontinued and they said it was still available, though I suspect this was just the ones left over.

Similarly, the TrafficVision has come and gone from the Philips website a number of times over the last 10 years.

It appears that the Libra is available in 2 variants of lamp orientation.

Those used for the Surrey and South Coast PFIs have the 2 tubes of the PL-L lamp horizontal - side by side.

However, the 36W and 55W Libras in my collection, which are not PFI types but of the same age, have the 2 tubes vertical - one above the other.

Bad form to reply to your own post but...

Still seemingly being installed, supplied sourced from Whitecroft Lighting.

I am not sure if Whitecroft are a manufacturer under licence or if are a reseller.

I can't quite remember what the link is between WRTL and Whitecroft, but I can assure you that the latter has been supplying lanterns such as the MRL 6 for a number of years! In other words, it isn't the case that they've taken over the production since WRTL ceased as previous posts on other groups suggest Whitecroft has been a thing since at least 2006, if not longer ago!

WRTL stands for Whitecroft Road and Tunnel Lighting. WRTL used to be a division of Whitecroft Lighting, and if you look at lanterns of a certain age, the stickers inside look much like the current Whitecroft Lighting logo. The two parts split several years ago. I'm not sure exactly when, but it may have been around the time when Indal bought Industria.

Whitecroft produced the Mistral Wall range of security light fittings until quite late. These were in essence the GEC Z9538M, GEC Z9582 and GEC Z8832 on wall brackets. I downloaded a PDF catalogue from their website of these products in December 2008. They have since been phased out.

I see the Iris has been dropped from the product listings, though the page for it is still there and can be found on Google. However, from the looks of things this is one of the last low-wattage SOX lanterns being phased out.

The WRTL website has gone, www.wrtl.co.uk does not work and searching for WRTL does not show their website

In addition to this, I saw the other day a WRTL Luma Mini lantern which had a "Philips" branding rather than the usual "Indal"... looks like we're going to be seeing very little of Indal in the future.
