Well that's what I am thinking too. The Tesco's was first, and in recent years the appearance has changed a lot from what it was about 10 years ago; the Park and Ride site came a bit later and took over what was at the time an overflow car park for Tesco.

More design differences have come to light    with the GEC Z9541 90W brick.

Image

On the "normal" bricks - GEC Z9545, 9555, 9565, the reflectors are flat and not that highly polished. However on the Z9541, the reflectors have a much more mirrored finish and they are slightly bent/angled so that the top part of the reflector deflects light from the upper part of the arc tube (more) downwards. Was this part of a redesign to make the lantern more efficient and with the revised spigot caused the lantern to have a new model number/be classed as a new variant?

Does anyone know all the available options built into the GEC 5760 bulkhead lantern?

Yet another variant of the 90W GEC Brick - Z9545.

Image

This one has the "flat" bowl like the very last of the line SON ones. The bowl doesn't protrude down beneath the canopy as much as the usual "shallow bowl" versions. See start of this thread for pics.

Unusually it is fitted with a 55W lamp - it was on a 6m column. Other 8m columns in the same location had 90W lamps fitted.

The identification label inside is now just a sticker rather than a riveted on plate.

Yes, it looks a right state and something will have to be down about that bowl, but it was the best of the lot!

It appears that GEC lanterns were at one time made under license in Israel!

It's strange what you find out!

Are you not thinking of sticking a bid on it or is the postage too steep?

I certainly weren't expecting anything like that from Israel.

Ironic really some of today's lanterns would warrant the GAASH label more than a decent GEC offering

Hey guys,

I was walking home from work the other day and I noticed something about the Z9480s we have around here. Some of them had the lampholder mounted at the rear of the lantern and some of them were towards the front. Are there actually 2 different models or was this just a change GEC made later on in the production life?

I'm guessing that the gear tray / lamp holder frame has been mounted the wrong way round after regearing.
