I'm planning to document the restoration that the Beaufort 25 requires. Am I best to do that here or the restoration discussion?
I know how paticular we are at keeping things in the right discussions.

In this instance, it is perfectly acceptable to post your restoration in either (or both!) threads. Posting it in here would appeal to those interested in the specifics of the lantern whereas posting it in the restoration thread would be slightly more aimed at technical questions regarding the restoration technique.

I'll put the general restoration here and technical questions on the restoration page.
I have noticed that the Beauforts (all) have a screw cap on top for canopy removal on the advert, but most don't have that, that I've seen in situ (except mine) so how are they held on then?

They may be like the GEC Z5680 lanterns where the whole canopy unscrews.

Thats a posability. I'll check the damaged Beauforts at portobello High School and see if the is any evidence that this might be the case.
I'll see if I can still try save these as they will be of interest to someone here, who has more space and skill to restore one or two.
Mine is the 25 and the school ones are the 3 which is just a bowl differance.

I worked on this Beaufort the other day and it has the thumb screw on the top of the canopy to access the interior. There are then a pair of wing nuts which allow the plate to lift out which holds the lampholder pointing down into the bowl area.
This is one of only a couple in Plymouth and is actually a council one. It's in pretty poor nick purely due to age. Nice unusual survivor though...

That's exactly what I have saved. I take it that one is 35W SOX? It would be worth saving that. Nice find though

There might be a chance I get another! I just found it on Google Maps. I'm just wanting to see what interest there is for it. I've not put in for it yet so it's just to see if there is interest if I do get it.

Interestingly enough it runs a 70w SON-E lamp. The gear is mounted in a box under the lower level of the carpark. The 2 wires for the lampholder are run singly up inside the support tubes to the top!
Check out this one which I've contemplated trying to offer a replacement service  ;)
