I'll let Phosco152 decide on that as he's in charge of that part of the site.

Thing is you also have this type:

the anti-vandal cage is an addition, but this is a MONDOLITE lantern and so falls outside of my list.

The Highfields that don't have bowls left are just because they've fallen off! The 1st generation metal Highfields that ran two GLS lamps had a shallow but wide bowl. The Highfield I have is a 2nd generation one and is the very last one in existence which still had it's teardrop shape bowl still in place.

With lanterns of this type it can be confusing as to which is which, but in most cases these can be told apart by a fairly simple guide:
1 support arm: Revo Hatfield aka 'birmingham',
2 support arms: Liverpool Highfield (possibly made by either Phosco or Revo),
3 support arms, straight top with sealed bowl: Falks Beaufort,
3 support arms with curved top and open ended refractor-bowl: Hume Atkins,
4 support arms: Revo Precinct

Is the Beaufort the open refractor type without a bowl?

No, small bowl.

That will be the Beaufort 3 then. I'd like to try save one of those if a location can be provided for it.

Falks manufactured open lamped, and refractor fittings too: http://www.midlandcountiesstreetlightin ... PS261.html

I do prefer the ones with bowls in them, though I wouldn't say no to one an open refractor or exposed bulb, given how rare they are. The more sightings the better, that way I can try save as many as I can get.

I'm keeping the North Yorks location close to my chest for now, as I'm after one of these types of lantern too! If I ended up getting it and later getting one of the York examples then it'd move on elsewhere.

Yes just the one... though there used to be another one within the York boundary on a former petrol station there, until it got whacked into by a car. So the liklihood is other petrol stations within North Yorkshire (current and former) may have one on the perimeter.

One of several well-maintained SOX-running Beauforts outside Welwyn Library in Hertfordshire

I've been in contact with various contacts about acquiring these Lanters with no current progress. The latest contact is the local council that own the building as the occupier a lease it from them & only maintain the site. I still wait for a reply. It would be great to get them & as there are a few I'd keep 2 & pass on the rest, so any help would be much appreciated to help acquire these.

I have now been given another contact to try. It appears I'm no further forward trying to find the owners of the building. I really hope i'll get them saved.
The high school I went to, Portobello High in Edinburgh, is to be replaced with a new one. There are a frew Beaufort 3s there, all in bad condition except one. I think there should be enough good parts to make one good one or have them made. There is a black smiths near by which might make replacement parts. Only problem is, is the problem sorting out land to build the new school and then the time to build it before any demolision work begins. I might just take the lot and sort out later what I need/don't need.

Are those the full length bowl variants? because if there are more than one bowl spare you may be wise to rescue any intact bowls even if the rest of the lanterns cannot be repaired.
