Had to post this. It's in Skipton and is a surviving Fluted Concrete column with it's original lantern fitted still. Found on Jerry Croft, Skipton. Just off High Street.

Sutton In Craven still has a lot of mercury stock, including Eleco Way post tops. Saw quite a lot of oldies on the route of my cycle ride to blackburn.

Also, on a different route I saw a falks beaufort lantern at a place called stanley near wakefield on the road to garforth... in very good condition. got pictures for sharing at a later date.

Macclesfield and Stockport have a fair few old lanterns.

2 Travel lodge's/pubs in SK9 have some old lanterns in the carpark. I'll find some pictures online.

All over Macclesfield there's 35w Revo Sol lanterns. Even some old fluted side road columns in places.

Also saw a pub carpark with 4 Alpha 1's on twin angled columns. Pub was having a refurb and missed the name sadly.

That'll be these ones!

I also saw them a few weeks ago. If my memory serves me right they were in a car park next to the A6 south of the M60. Having spotted them from the road, I pulled in for a photo only to realise the workmen were still there, so I could only grab an image of one of the pairs before making a hasty exit.

I hope the refurb doesn't extend to the car park lighting!

They probably will, twin stub Iridiums will probably be there soon, along with the rest of the country.  :(

Whilst sotonsteve and I were on a bit of an exploration trip yesterday we found some Thorn Alpha 7s, and close up.

I'm in Stockport next week and will take my camcorder with me.

I'll also video Austhorpe Lane's new lighting vs the old ones too.

I've lived in york all my life... but today I noticed something for the first time. Where part of the inner ring road goes under the city walls by Lendal Bridge over the river, there is a light under the arch that runs SON. I thought it was just a bulkhead, but tonight I was waiting at a red light and happened to look up. The light has a big metal plate all around it and a glass bowl remarkably similar to that of an Alpha 7. Maybe the body is recessed behind the metal plate!

Also, a neighbour two doors down from me has a cast iron column and glass bowl GEC Z5560SB in the back garden.

Here are some pics from Hertfordshire today - I don't know any of the codes though.

Notice how every installation (accept the bottom one which has a modern heritage lantern on older concrete column) are a bit doddery!
