KEEP DEAD:
Beta 2/5 (Rip offs of the GEC Z9580)
Sintra (looks like a mutation of the SGS204 and the ZX3)

The original Beta 5 (Atlas Amber Minor) came out in 1965, I think the GEC Z9580 range only came out in the 70/80s

An article in Lux Review states that 2015 is the final year for the Urbis ZX range, which is being discontinued. It has been a popular lantern, found in many parts of the country, but it's time has come.

I'm going to make a bold statement, but after the last 2 years I'd suggest anything that isn't LED is pretty much considered obsolete.

That is a bold statement, and in a way I agree with you, as councils who still install non-LED fittings are becoming a bit 'old hat'.

However, looking at the wider picture, there are lots of countries in Europe that are really slow on the uptake of LED technology. The UK is one of the largest adopters of LED street lighting. Some countries have only just moved on from installing new mercury.

Indeed, I've just been to Northern Cyprus and just about all the side road fittings are MBF lanterns, with only a handful of SON-H retrofits.

After the news last year that the Urbis ZX series was being discontinued, the ZXU1 and ZX3 have now disappeared from their website.

I don't know if any of these are still made so I will combine those I'd wish to save with those I wish to bring back, in no order they are:

1 Thorn Alpha 3
2 GEC Z8600
3 Eleco GR 501/100/150/200
4 Philips MA 50/60/90, I like the ones with the black at the back of the lantern most, I don't know technical names
5 GEC Z9454
6 Urbis ZX3, especially deep bowled ones
7 Thorn Beta 8
8 Philips SGS 203, 204 and the early 201
9 Philips TV, (with a flat glass) they just look funny  :)
10 whatever this is https://ibb.co/554kdq2

Those I wish to get rid of or keep dead as I don't know if some of these are still made are:

1 anything LED (aside from retrofits in old lanterns)
2 WRTL Vectra
3 Philips SGS 101
4 this... https://ibb.co/Zf2xDhq
5 Urbis ZX1
6 Industria 2600 (it would be okay in SOX though)
7 Philips TV, specifically bowled versions
8 these https://ibb.co/jJBRx5c
9 Philips SGS 201, but only because there was so many, they used to dominate around here
10 Deep bowled Philips SGS 253

Is it just me, or is CU Phosco the last of the traditional "main" manufacturers selling street lighting in the UK still to offer discharge lighting? Looking at websites for the likes of Philips, Schreder and Thorn, they only show LED street lighting on their websites now.

If so, casual replacements of discharge lighting is going to be challenging if not wishing to opt for LED.

Sadly, not anymore. CU Phosco discontinued them within the last couple years. Everything has gone to LED now.
